Legal Notice 62/2020 provides that, in the case of whole-time employees, the employee must grant his employee quarantine leave for as long as necessary.

This means that the employer must grant those whole-time employees who are legally obliged to abide by a quarantine order leave for as long as necessary without loss of wages.

Any person who fails to comply with these regulations shall be guilty of an offence and shall, on conviction, be liable to a minimum fine of €465.87. 
 
If after the 8
th of March 2020 you have lost your job due to Coronavirus, you may apply for the Contributory Unemployment Benefit. If you qualify for this Benefit, you will receive either (a) €166.15 per week, if you were working full-time, or (b) €103.85 per week, if you were working part-time. You may also be entitled to enjoy several additional benefits (depending on your circumstances).
